The Gateway Pediatric Dentistry WildOnes Kids MaraFun is a unique race format that allows young people ages 4-12 to participate in their first race. On race day the course is 1.2 km but the kids are encouraged to do a 4-6 week training program to log their kilometers. If they get up to 41 km by race day they will complete their first "MaraFun" on the course! Don't forget to check out the Race Village in St. Albert, which includes a kids' fun zone, live entertainment, food and beverages and much more!
Coming back for 2023!
We are excited to bring the WildOnes MaraFun to more communities! Our WildOnes MaraFun racers will have the following options for participation:
- Virtually -Have fun making your own 1.2K race route and run whenever you want!
- St. Albert: The WildOnes MaraFun will also be returning to its original home in St. Albert at Lions Park on May 7, 2023.
- Sherwood Park MaraFun racers can join us for an in-person race in Sherwood Park on Saturday May 6, 2023 at this satellite location.
- Spruce Grove MaraFun racers can join us for an in-person race in Spruce Grove on Saturday May 6, 2023 at this satellite location.
Please note that the St. Albert WildOnes MaraFun will still be a part of the entire St. Albert RunWild event, including the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon races, as it has in previous years. The satellite WildOnes MaraFun events in Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove will be on a smaller scale as it is only for the 1.2K MaraFun racers.

MaraFun Race Details

In St. Albert, the formal stage program takes place at 11:00 am, before the race begins. Racers should be gathered in their teams by then as the warm-up takes place immediately after the program.
Kids can sign up with their school (if participating), with a friend, or on their own. All WildOnes Kids MaraFun participants receive a competitors t-shirt, a race bib and a medal when they cross the finish line

START LOCATION
St. Albert: The start Line is on the trail next to Millennium Park.
Spruce Grove: The start line is located in Central Park
Sherwood Park: The Start line is located in Greengrove Park in Glen Allen
