Important RunWild 2016 Update

The volunteers, committee and athletes of RunWild would like to thank you for your past participation and support.

From 2011 to date RunWild has raised over $350,000 for our two charities: The Zebra Child Protection Centre and the St. Albert 50+ Club.  We have averaged 1850 runners per year including over 575 kids in the WildOnes MaraFun program.

The organizing committee would like to announce that 2016 will be a transition year for RunWild. On May 15, 2016 we will be presenting a modified race, focusing solely this year on the youth involvement.  There are many reasons for this including the temporary loss of our headquarters and the logistics of the routes including major construction at the start/finish staging area for 2016.

For 2016 there will NOT be a 5 km, 10 km or half marathon event.

We will reassess as things develop to determine what RunWild will look like in future years, meaning which race distances will be presented.

We are very pleased to move forward this year with the children’s programming to strengthen our vision of a community that supports its children through awareness of our important charity and also through a focus on health and fitness.  The Wildones MaraFun program was presented in 14 schools in the Capital Region last year and has grown every year.

Leading Edge will be the presenting sponsor of the Wildones MaraFun in 2016, and we would appreciate any continued commitment to RunWild in its modified form this year to support our vision and continue to raise funds for the Zebra Child Protection Centre.

Thank you again for your support through the years. We are truly grateful.

Sincerely,

Grant Fedoruk
